Chip was born on February 27, 1965, as Harry Christopher Caray III, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He is a 59-year-old American broadcaster who belongs to a white ethnicity.

For education, Chip went to Parkway West High School, and after that, he joined the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. He earned a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia in 1987.

Caray was born to Skip Caray and Lila Haberberger. His mother, Lila, was a homemaker, while his father, Skip, was a broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves (died 2008).

Chip is one of the four children of Skip and Lila. He spent his childhood with his brother Josh Caray and two sisters, Cindy Hines and Shayelyn Woodbery.

Early Profession and Career

In his early days, Chip started working with local TV stations in Panama City and Greensboro. He became the play-by-play broadcaster from 1989 to 1996 for Orlando Magic.

Then he joined FOX in 1996 as a Major League Baseball broadcaster. Later, he also became a broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs, where he worked along with his grandfather Harry.

Chip’s professional career started in 2004 when he broadcast games for the Atlanta Braves. In 2007, Caray was announced as the main play-by-play broadcaster for TBS. In November 2009, TBS and Caray decided to go different ways. He joined FOX Sports South in December 2009.
